Interview with Jean Alfieri

Award‑winning author and speaker Jean Alfieri—known for Twisty and True Tails of a Shelter Dog Matchmaker, 21 Ways to Weather the Loss of Your Pet, and Blessed to Be Me—joined me for a conversation about Your Alchemy Map, exploring the journey behind the book and the framework it offers for emotional transformation.

What the book is about
Your Alchemy Map is a guide for anyone who has felt overwhelmed by emotional turbulence, confusion, or difficulty. It teaches readers to navigate emotions with clarity rather than resistance and introduces a visual, coordinate‑based emotional map that traces any feeling back to its spiritual origin. At the center are the Source Circles—five progressively deeper layers of awareness that reveal how emotional navigation becomes a path toward inner freedom, Joy, and Love.

What inspired its creation
The book was born during one of the most difficult seasons of my life. A painful divorce and custody battle left me emotionally hollow, and during that time two missionaries began visiting my home. Their teachings on scripture and prayer opened the door to a profound spiritual experience—one that allowed me, for a moment, to step outside the identity built from my body, mind, and stories. Early‑morning revelations followed, offering insights I wrote down so they wouldn’t be lost. Over time, I noticed a beautiful connection: every insight fit onto a single map. That realization became the foundation of Your Alchemy Map.

Surprises along the writing journey
I never intended to write a book. I was simply recording insights as they came—yet each idea opened the door to the next. The biggest surprise was seeing how all those scattered thoughts formed one coherent map. The writing unfolded in phases: random ideas became scripts, scripts became refined writing, refined writing became structured chapters, and structure became a polished manuscript. With support from an AI tool and later Steve Harrison’s team, the book reached a professional level. The journey taught me that when you take the first step, the next step always reveals itself.

Who the book is for
This book is for anyone overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in cycles of suffering, or disconnected from joy. It’s for readers seeking healing, awakening, or a deeper understanding of themselves. Rooted in spiritual psychology, the book blends traditional psychological insight with spiritual awareness—particularly the teachings of Jesus—to help readers explore the nature of the spirit and move beyond the limitations of the mind.

What readers will gain
Readers will find a companion for navigating emotional turbulence and a practical framework for understanding their inner world with clarity. They’ll learn to recognize the deeper self beneath their stories and move toward the inner center where Joy and Love naturally reside. Most importantly, they’ll discover how transforming their emotional state can transform their circumstances—shifting life from something that happens to them into something they can shape consciously.
